Becoming a member of FoAM and helping with its activities

By joining FoAM and becoming a member, your subscription plays a valuable role in supporting the work of the group.  Some members are able give up part of their time to assist FoAM in a variety of ways.  This can be by joining the Committee of Trustees which manages the group, or by assisting with organising and running the group’s activities and events, developing its projects or helping with its funding applications.  If you become a member and can also help with the group’s wide-range of activities, this will be much appreciated.

Download our Application Form, which contains details of current membership rates and how to apply.  You can use this form to either pay by cheque or by bank transfer.  Our Privacy Notice tells you how we keep and use the information you supply to us when you join.

We publish a quarterly newsletter and update our website and Facebook page regularly to keep members up to date with the group’s activities.

Cheshire West and Chester Council currently offer a concessionary car park season ticket rate to FoAM members.  The Annual Season Ticket for car parking at Marbury and Anderton Nature Parks normally costs £31, but is reduced to £21 with evidence of membership (a current FoAM membership card).

To obtain the concession, download the annual  Season Ticket Application and send the completed form, with your FoAM membership card, to Workplace Solutions Winsford, 1st Floor Wyvern House, Winsford, Cheshire, CW7 1AH.

Becoming a Volunteer with Cheshire West and Chester’s Greenspace Officers

The Council’s Greenspace Officers are always looking for volunteers to work alongside paid members of their team.  These volunteers play a very important role in helping look after the Woodlands.  Without them, services would not be able to operate as effectively as they do.

Normal volunteer days at Northwich Woodlands are Wednesdays and Thursdays between 9.30am and 4.00pm.  If you would like to find out more about volunteering at Northwich Woodlands under the direction of the Council’s Greenspace Officers’ team, either call in at the Rangers’ Cabin at Marbury or phone 01606 77741.

You do not have to be a FoAM member to volunteer with the Greenspace Officer team, but we hope that all volunteers in the Woodlands will want to join FoAM to support our activities.  Around 30 of the individuals who currently volunteer regularly with the Greenspace Officers are also members of FoAM.
